Description:
Come lay in our beds!
While many tanning salons offer two or three levels of UV tanning, Body Bronze Tanning kicks it up a notch with seven beds spanning five levels of intensity. Split between traditional and standup models, each unit has unique and innovative features, such as voice-activated controls, air conditioning, and a barbershop quintet that hums relaxing ocean sounds. UV-free spray tans are applied by airbrushing extraordinaire Jess Bednar, who recently completed her masters spray-tanning certification. Jess blends custom Norvell solutions before applying them with a continuous flow HVLP wide-point spray gun to create natural-looking color that lasts for up to 10 days.
Tanning Tips - Body Bronze Tanning
Do I have to wear eyewear?
Yes, your eyes are sensitive to UV light and should not be exposed while tanning. The skin on your eyelids is the thinnest on your body, and is not thick enough to sufficiently block UV light. If you do not wear protective eye wear, you are putting your eyesight at risk. It is also a federal law!
Should I use an indoor tanning lotion?
Using an indoor tanning lotion, also know as "accelerators, can help you absorb UV rays for better results. Thay can help you tan about twice as fast and keep your tan much longer. Indoor tanning lotions are specially formulated to provide your skin with moisture that is necessary before and after tanning.
It is particularly important for individuals with sensitive skin to use a tanning lotion when tanning indoors so that they can protect fair skin and also help to prevent burning and painful after effects that can accompany skin damage from burning.
Can I use outdoor oils and lotions in the tanning bed?
No! Outdoor products should ONLY be used outdoors, as they can cause a film on the acrylic. This actually inhibits the tanning process, rather than acting as an amplifying agent. There are many excellent indoor tanning products for that purpose. Ask our tanning professional for recommendations.
What should I wear to tan?
Some people choose to wear a swimsuit, just as they would at the beach. Because of the privacy of indoor tanning, most tan in the nude to avoid tan lines. Any skin that has never been exposed to ultraviolet light before will be more sensitive. These parts must acquire a tan slowly. Cut down the exposure time for these areas to 1/3 or less of the total time recommended by your tanning professional. When you can't see any tan lines on your body at all, it's ok to expose that skin the same length of time as the rest of your body.
How do I protect a fresh Tattoo
The ink that is used in tattoos is UV sensitive and it is important not to expose a fresh tattoo to sunlight or indoor tanning equipment. Cover the tattooed area completely or don't tan until the skin has healed. After the skin is healed, tattoos will still fade with continued exposure to both indoor and outdoor UV light.
Use a non-petroleum lip balm of at least SPF 18 to help reduce fading of your tattoo.
