Art after Hours on September 1st will celebrate the opening of Water, the Zimmerli major fall exhibition with more than 100 works of art and related events at Rutgers. The celebration will kick off at the Mason Gross School of the Arts from 4 to 6 pm with a preview of Jim Toia's Dissolving Gardens. At 6pm, the party continues to the Zimmerli in a walking parade from Mason Gross to the art museum where Howi Bongo, a steel drum musician will be playing on the terrace beside a bar featuring an array of naturally flavored waters. Inside the museum, the Water exhibition will be open to view. Be the first to see this large-scale show. Learn more about water as a global and local issue. At 7pm, listen to the music of N-Result live and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

"Art after Hours: First Wednesdays,"one of the Zimmerli's keystone programs, gives Rutgers University students, faculty, and staff, as well as the community an opportunity to engage in a multifaceted approach to art. Held on the first Wednesday of every month, Art after Hours features a variety of events that are free to students, faculty, staff and Zimmerli members; other visitors are welcome with general museum admission. Art after Hours complements the museum's innovative exhibitions with music and dance performances, spotlight tours, poetry slams, film screenings, more. Cafe' Z and the Museum Store are open for Art After Hours to add to the evening's enjoyment.
