Downtown NJ Announces Excellence Awards Downtown New Jersey (DNJ) is pleased to announce the 2011 Excellence Awards that recognize the best projects and achievements in downtowns throughout the state. The annual awards will be presented at a reception on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at The Heldrich Center in New Brunswick. “There are many people working on terrific projects to enhance and enrich New Jersey’s downtowns. This year’s award recipients have made outstanding contributions and represent projects that will sustain communities for a long time,” said Michael Redpath, President of DNJ. “The reception is an opportunity to network with leaders in downtown development and planning,” he added. The 2011 Project Award recipients are: Built Projects Gold: Landis Market, Vineland A specialty market that includes an Amish market and local businesses Silver: 40 Park and 14 Maple, Morristown A mixed use project with residential and retail built on the site of vacant department store Streetscape Redevelopment Gold: Chatham Streetscape Improvements, Chatham Silver: George Street Streetscape Improvements, New Brunswick The following individuals are recognized for their continued and innovative service to DNJ, downtowns and business districts.
