08/14/2011 - RC Car Races to Benefit Veterans - Worth The Ride

Attention Radio Controlled Car Fans Jackson Elks will be holding its first ever Off Road RC Truck and Car obstacle race. Proceeds to Help the Veterans Date of Race August 14th,2011 Start Time 11:00AM Run what ya brung !! (1/8, 1/10 & 1/16 scale) This will be an Off-Road obstacle course time challenge. Prizes for the top best time. Entry fee $15.00 per RC vehicle, preregistration is a must a $5.00 cash deposit (refundable only if race is cancelled) is required and the $10.00 balance due (cash) before the 11AM start time. Spectator entry fee: $2.00 PP -- Free admission for all Veterans' (must have proof of service) Race Rules 1. This is a time challenge type race, the course will be off road with different obstacles (slalom, bridge, uphill, gravel, sand and grass), there will be three rounds, we will use your best time out of the three rounds 2. You are allowed up to 3 people in your pit crew positioned around course to assist vehicle (a 3 second penalty for each time the vehicle needs to be helped past an obstacle) 3. The course will be open for inspection 2 hours before the race (9AM). (You must pay the $5.00 cash deposit fee (refundable only if race is cancelled) in order to inspect the course. 4. Order of racers will be determined by drawing of names the night before the race. 5. Proceeds will go to the Jackson Elks Veteran's Committee. 6.
